Hand Stitched Colorstory Quilt: Loose Ends

sold out

This is the second in a series of improvisational hand stitched mini art quilts that I am naming “Colorstories”. This particular quilt, Loose Ends, represents the moment when all of the loose ends of life start coming together. Almost all of the fabrics were hand dyed using natural dyestuffs such as marigold, cochineal, hollyhock, and goldenrod. A few commercial fabric scraps are incorporated, too. All of the fabrics are sewn to a vintage napkin dyed with hydrangea flowers. The running stitches create a beautiful sense of movement and energy that is coming into focus that supports the idea of “Loose Ends”.

Currently, this 9 1/4”x10” mini improvisational quilt is ready to be framed. It has some texture and dimension to it, but it can be inserted into a shadow frame or frame with more room. If you would prefer, I can attach a hanging tube and dowel rod in the back and it could hang directly on the wall, or attach it to a stretched canvas and hung on a hook. Please contact me before purchase if either of those options appeal to you. There will be a nominal fee for either of those options added to the sale price ($10-$25).
