For several years, I would visit the Director of the Mollusk Collection at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History every month. Eventually, he would let me roam the stacks on my own, pulling drawers to study the various mollusk shells within. I was always careful to allow my curiosity to guide me, as well as to put things back correctly :) These designs were created from my sketches and paintings from those visits.
