Spring 2008 Silk Organza Bubble Wraps!

Silk Organza is one of my favorite fabrics ever! One of the few silks that is processed to leave the protein from the silk worm in it, this materials holds 3-D shapes permanently! As I experimented with this phenomenon, I discovered the rich complexity and possibilities of using this technique with wearable art. Shibori Japanese fabric dyeing encompasses color, texture and shape in fabric. These scarves represent a contemporary twist to the traditions, but all perpetuate the original gift of the shibori masters.

This Spring 2008 line of one-of-a-kind and custom made Silk Organza "Bubble Wraps" is a culmination of years of experimentation, successes and creativity!
